Pale Milk Snake (Lampropeltis t. multistriata) are not necessarily rare in South Dakota, but are seldom seen. We found this one this afternoon. They are "very shy" and actually quite pretty. They are not harmful. Oh by the way...if your only comment to follow is "Eek! I hate snakes"... change your perspective to "educational"
