We went out this evening and picked chokecherries. They are amazingly sweet, flavorful and plenteous. Only hazard to watch for is some poison ivy and over eating of ripe berries.
A special treat while picking chokecherries are the sand cherries that grow along the rim of the breaks in the sand and gravel layer. They are much larger and taste very good.
