Ruth Gladys Reinhold Humke ...
Just another name... Hardly!
Ruth was the youngest of nine children, borne to Emanuel and Hazel Reinhold. Homesteaders on Lonetree Creek in Meade County, SD. A child of the depression... as Tom Brokaw wrote in his book, one of the "Greatest Generation". She herself was the mother of nine children. Much could be said and will be in the upcoming days.
The photo was taken this morning of the sunrise over the Lonetree Ranch... Aunt Ruth's first home.
But to me, she was my Aunt.... My Dad's little sister. And as of yesterday afternoon, I have no Aunts or Uncles left on this earth... At Aunt Ruth's passing, I along with a number of other cousins find ourselves... "That Generation"... " We are the senior members of the family.
May our stories be good, our impact positive, our legacy worth following and may God be glorified in each day that He entrusts to us.
